56. Retainer

A dental appliance, which keeps teeth in their proper position after the completion of orthodontic treatment.

57. Root Planing

The removal of plaque, calculus from root surface of teeth.

58. Scaling

The removal of plaque and calculus from teeth using curettes and scalers.

59. Sealant

Composite resin material used to seal pits and fissures of teeth to protect against caries.

60. Smile Line

The level at which the lip covers the teeth during a smile; High smile lines show excessive teeth and gum, while low smile lines show too little teeth.
